The Sky At Night

STREWTH! Neighbours, BBC1, 1.40/5.35pm

NeighboursOh, Sky. What's become of you? We used to think you were quite brilliant, and yet lately you have been deeply, deeply rubbish. You've become stroppy, self-centred and, most importantly, you've run rings around several very hot men, which is an almost unforgivable sin in our eyes. What happened, Sky? Where did our love go?

Anyway, things are set to get more complicated for Sky before they get any easier, because today she discovers she's up the Hilary Duff and isn't quite sure who the father is (no wonder Harold had a few choice words for her regarding her promiscuity a while back). Sky thinks it has to be either Dylan or Jean-Pierre, and yet for some reason isn't factoring in another one of her recent romantic misdemeanours. So, it's babydaddy drama for Sky. We never thought it would come to this.

On a side note: how thoroughly brilliant is the evil Camerob storyline right now? Last week's episodes where Rob tried to blow up Elle (and sadly failed), had a fight with a newly-awake Cameron, got knocked out, then woke up and replaced Cameron in his bed (as the patient that everyone assumed was Rob all along) pretending to have been in a coma all the while was inspired, especially when Cameron then got arrested for all the stuff Rob had done. Evil twin storylines are the best ever. Maybe that's what EastEnders needs to sort itself out right now.

About Us

According to Marxist theory, cultural forms such as opera, classical music and the literary works of Shakespeare all fall under the heading of high culture. Low culture refers to a wide variety of cultural themes that are characterised by their consumption by the masses. We might not be Marxists, but we do know we loved Footballers Wives. If you do too, you'll know what this is all about.

Pure evil!" » not quite getting around to watching that new Futurama DVD: "Maybe at the weekend, eh?" » plotting a new member of the Lowculture family: "Nobody will have a clue what it's about, but I'm still doing it!"
